Lead our Junior Surf Programme
We are recruiting two paid roles to help lead the next chapter of JSP, the club's grassroots training ground for safe, confident tamariki and future lifeguards.
Get to know how we run JSP
These roles run the programme to a clear, documented standard. Have a read of our Junior Surf Programme Standard Operating Procedure before you apply. It sets out how the programme works, what we expect of our leaders, and the values behind it, so you know exactly what you would be part of.
JSP Coordinator
Leads the Junior Surf Programme and owns how it runs, day to day.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO
Own programme delivery: squads, sessions, equipment and parent helpers
Be the single point of contact for families and the team
Lead communications and keep the season running smoothly
Work with the Board and the club's lifeguards
WHO IT SUITS
An organised, calm and proactive leader who loves seeing young people thrive. You do not need to be a lifeguard, so this suits a parent, member or someone from the wider community.
Commitment: year-round, building from a few hours a week to daily involvement across the season (December to January).
Guard Training and Mentoring Lead
Develops our squad leaders on the beach, in real conditions.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO
Mentor and coach squad leaders during every session
Model technique in the water, not just describe it
Support on-beach safety and standards
Help turn feedback into visible improvement
WHO IT SUITS
An experienced, currently active lifeguard with strong water skills, who can lead by example and bring on the next generation of guards.
Commitment: the pre-season training camp, then on the beach for every session across the season (December to February).
